Big Girl Jammies

Mena has outgrown her sleep sacks. They only fit up to 9 months...She turned 8 months this week and I've moved her into 12 month clothing! She's our "little giant!" Just this week she discovered she can roll herself over in bed to sleep on her stomach. We think maybe in a sleep sack she wasn't able to flip herself over. She looked so cute I just had to snap a picture of her sleeping on her tummy.

The pediatrician took her off of solid foods since they weren't agreeing with her. She's growing well on formula only. Today we go see the pediatric gastro-intestinal doctor in Omaha. Hopefully she can give us some answers on what is going on with our precious little girl.

Jingle Bells

Here's Mena playing on the floor with her jingle bells. She's wearing shorts! Yea the weather has gotten warmer! Check out those little chunky thighs!

In the Johnny Jumper

Mena really enjoys jumping in the Johnny Jumper. I've figured out how to take videos and how to put the videos on the blog, but I haven't figured out how to edit the videos so it's a little long. I hope you enjoy it.

Mommy's Big Exercise Ball

I found an idea to use an exercise ball to play with your infant so I tried it with Mena. The first time I introduced the exercise ball she screamed like it was the worst thing in the world that I could have done to her. I took her off and reintroduced it more slowly and now she loves it. Mena's legs are strong enough to hold herself up if we balance her. She really loves standing beside my exercise ball and slapping it to make a funny noise. She also smiles and laughs when I roll her up onto the ball so she's balanced on top on her belly.

Sitting up with no Support

Here Mena's getting better at sitting up on her own. She still topples over on occasion but she's figuring out how to catch herself. My sister Beth babysat her on Saturday, May 2nd. Before I dropped her off we'd been sitting on the floor with her and she'd immediately fall over if we let go of her. Then Sunday, May 3rd, she all of a sudden started sitting up on her own. I called Beth to see if she'd taught her to do that Saturday afternoon at her house, but she said no. She did tell me that Mena is definitely my daughter...Mena had been fussing so Beth tried a few times to give her a binky. Mena refused it so Beth finally just set it on the blanket next to her. Mena then picked it up and put it in her mouth. She's an independent little thing!

I'm an Airplane!

I was laying on the floor with Mena singing a song called "I'm an Airplane!" The top picture is her just laying on top of me laughing. The second picture you can kind of see that she is laying on my legs that I'd bent up into the air so she could fly while I was singing.

Easter Eggs

We missed the Easter gathering with my family because of illness, but my sister delivered the goodies to Mena. Mena really enjoyed the Easter Eggs that Grandma & pa Frye got her. She studied them closely--take note of the one she launched across the room!

Hanging Out with Daddy

Mena's begun sitting up on her own. She likes sitting beside us and seems to enjoy the same activities that Gene and I enjoy!
