New Christmas Clothes

Maggie had to pull her pants up to her knees so we could all see her new Dory socks!

Loving my new Wonder Woman Shirt!

Maggie with loud excitement:  Mom, I look like Grandma with my hair in a towel!!!!

Christmas Evening

The girls were wanting to spend the night at Grandma and Grandpa's but I decided it would be better if we came home to our own beds.  Maggie fell asleep in the car on the way home.  I woke her up to come in the house.  She took off her coat and boots and went to bed at 6:30.  She hadn't moved a muscle when I went to bed.  She ended up sleeping 12-13 hours!  She'd been up at 5 am on Dec 24th at her dad's house and 6 am on Dec 25th at my house, so she was tuckered out!!

Mena tried on her new robe to show me how well it fit, but declared she was not going to bed yet!  She stayed up until her normal 8 pm bedtime.

Christmas Afternoon -- Cousins

Christmas Afternoon

We had lunch and presents with my family in Yutan.  Maggie enjoys her new Dory and Nemo socks; she has to pull her pants up to her knees so we can see the socks :)  Mena got 2 pairs of slippers and both were too small so she had fun going shopping to exchange them on December 27th.  I refused to go the day after Christmas and by waiting until the 27th there was no line at the returns!!  Both girls are enjoying their Calico Critter houses to go with their families and cars that they got at my house.

Christmas Morning

I took the girls to Christmas Eve service at our church at 7 pm.  Maggie fell asleep in the car on the way home so I just carried her into bed.  So she really wasn't dressed before opening presents on Christmas morning; she'd just never undressed the night before!

The girls went for their stockings first.  Mena said, "Mom, look!  This is the same game we played at the restaurant last week!" referring to the tees in a triangle game.  Maggie was most excited for her new Minions movie.  Both girls enjoyed getting new hand towels with owls on them for their bathroom.  They were also excited for their Calico Critter families, cars, and ice cream shop.

Mena's Girl Scout Christmas Party

I dropped Mena off at her Brownie Christmas party and then took Maggie to her Daisy meeting.  Another parent shared these pictures since I couldn't be with both troops at the same time.

Little Nativity

I received a mini-nativity set from my secret santa at work.  Maggie set it up and has pretty much claimed it as her toy to play with!

Kindergarten Gingerbread Houses

I was able to leave work early to go to Maggie's class gingerbread house party.  She was so excited to see me walk in the door that she weaved her way through the line of parents to get to me.

Church Christmas Pageant

Grandma and Grandpa Frye went to Fremont and picked up Grandma Olson and all three came to the girls' Christmas program during church.  Both Mena's and Maggie's choirs sang during the pageant of the Christmas story.  Getting all 4 generations of girls to smile at the same time is almost as hard as taking a picture of the 5 grandkids at the same time!

Christmas Cookies and Presents with Jada and Amy

Amy and I got our kids together on a Saturday afternoon to make sugar cookies and to exchange presents.  We got Amy a Star Wars bathroom rug and Jada an Eiffel Tower ornament.  They got us a "don't pop the balloon" game.  The five of us had a great time playing the game.  We thought Mena was safe after she pushed her pins in, but before Amy had rolled the dice, the balloon popped and scared us all!

Christmas Lights

We drove around looking at Christmas Lights on a Friday night.  Our main focus was to find the 12 Days of Christmas on the buildings downtown.  We found all but 1, 5, and 12.  We walked around downtown for a bit to look at the train and to find Santa.  Santa had been walking around downtown when we drove by but by the time I parked and we walked over, he was no where to be seen.

Gingerbread Houses

This year we went to church to decorate gingerbread houses with our friends rather than doing it at home.  We ate pizza for supper with our friends and then when the kids ate candy while decorating, we knew they had some real food in their stomachs first!  Mena is trying really hard not to blink and has her eyes open wide with her finished house.
