Mena's Headboard and Giraffe Hook painted White

Getting closer to finishing Mena's bedroom.  The headboard is attached and painted.  I also painted the coat hook white to match.

 

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was just the three of us. Mena wanted chicken pot pie. Maggie wanted sweet potatoes with marshmallows. I also bought jellied cranberry sauce and a frozen apple pie. We had a nice meal together in the early afternoon. 

Technically, Gene’s quarantine didn’t end until Friday morning but I figured if he wasn’t sick by now that he wasn’t going to be  I called him and then took the girls to him at 4 pm.  They were so excited to see him!

Slimy Stuff

 I made pasta salad with chicken & fresh veggies for supper last night. Mena said she liked it except for the slimy stuff all over the salad. That would be Italian salad dressing 😂

Walls Painted

Sunday I was able to paint the last 2 gray walls. 3 weekends in a row working on her room. One more weekend to finish, is my guess. I think a month of weekends isn’t too bad but Mena thinks this is taking forever!

Happy Birthday, Maggie!

 This was a very different birthday for Maggie. The girls are spending November 13 - Thanksgiving with me due to Holly getting covid and everyone at that house having to quarantine. The girls have been able to FaceTime their dad like normal; it’s just the first time the girls have spent 14 days away from either of us. He dropped of a present and then watched her open it over FaceTime. 

I made an ice cream cake for the first time. It turned out yummy and looking pretty good. 

We zoomed with my family so they could see her open their presents and sing happy birthday to her. Everyone had their own snacks to eat while we ate the birthday cake. Then we continued to chat over zoom. 

Mena and I gave her the LOL camper and Descendants 3 movie. Daddy’s family gave her an LOL doll surprise box. My family gave her 2 LOL OMG light dolls, black light, and wall stickers for when we paint her room over Christmas break. Everything coordinated well for her birthday and she loved it all!

Student of the Week

Maggie now goes to Kahoa CLC for before & after school care. She was chosen as Student of the Week for following rules & directions the first time told this week! So proud of this girl!!
 

Start Painting Walls

 I painted the teal accent wall. Mena wanted the other walls white but I thought that was too bright, like a hospital. We decided to color match the light gray in her comforter. It turned out darker than we expected but she likes it. Two weekends of painting, so far!

Oops

I asked Mena to take a pile of shirts downstairs, put them in a tote, and label it “Size S/M Shirts.”  She forgot the “r” in shirts! 🤣😂🤣 oops!

Painting Furniture

 We color matched teal paint to Mena’s comforter and painted her furniture teal & white. She and Maggie both helped with the project. I can honestly say they were helpful and not getting in the way as lids are tend to do!!
