Mena's Bike

Mena now has 2 tricycles. Last September she got the bike you see in the second picture, but this summer she still can't reach to pedal the bike so we got the smaller trike you see in the first and third picture. She can now reach to pedal, but choosing to pedal is a different story!

Jake

The kids enjoy when Jake comes either on his usual Tuesday and Thursday afternoons or in the mornings for a playdate. In the first picture Peg and I had Jake and Mena on one side of the glider with Ky and Traven on the other side swinging together. In the second picture Traven, Mena, and Jake are taking a break from all their running/crawling around the backyard.

Girls

The first picture is of Mena and Kylinn chatting at lunch. Both girls wanted to hold Maggie so I sat all 3 of them together in the rocking chair. In the second picture you can see that Ky decided this was too crowded for her. In the third picture you can see the big smiles that I see all day long--well most of the day. They are two year olds after all, and I do occasionally have to break up a tug of war over a toy they both want!

Other Indoor Activities

Play dough, coloring, and a box of rice or beans continue to be favorite indoor activities.

Games

The first two pictures are from the day we read the nursery rhyme "Jack Be Nimble." In the first picture we're talking about small, medium, and large. Mena grasps the concept of big and little and is beginning to understand small, medium, and large. In the second picture she is jumping over the candle stick.

The last two pictures are matching games. In the first they had to find the matching pictures which Mena totally understands. In the second picture they had to match an item to it's outline. This was confusing at first for Mena but she quickly caught on. In the third picture you can see how Maggie wanted to get a hold of Ky and Mena's cards!
