Swimming Pool

I got this swimming pool last fall for $1 at a garage sale. Mostly I figured it would contain messes when we did an activity on my kitchen floor. This summer I decided to see if it would hold water. It's been great for all these hot days. Maggie also enjoys the pool but I can't get any pictures of that since I'm in the pool with Maggie. One of these days we should get in the water on the weekend so Gene can take a picture of us.

New Swing Set

On July 4th, Gene and I spent the day putting together the new swing set I picked out for our backyard. This was more difficult than the slide thing I picked out last year, but we got it done. Mena and Jake played while Aunt Peggy helped us.  Mena is enjoying it and Maggie likes her baby swing that I moved from the old swingset to the new one. We sent the old swing set to my sister's house so Jake would have a swing set.

Party at Rick and Lynn's

After visiting Grandma on July 2nd, we then went to my Uncle Rick and Aunt Lynn's house to see my Dad's side of the family. Mena enjoyed riding in the car while her cousin Peyton drove. At first Mena was leary of the sparklers but then she started having fun with Gene. Mena was scared of the fireworks this year so she and Gene spent most of that time in the house. Maggie enjoyed looking at the lights and enjoyed talking to mommy about it.

4 Generations

On July 2nd, I took the girls up to see my Grandma. Here I am holding Maggie, Grandma (Carole Olson) is holding Mena, and my Mom (Sharon Frye) is on the right.

Sleeping

No wonder Mena occasionally falls out of bed. She's a heavy sleeper and didn't even wake up when the flash went off.

End of June

The girls made star necklaces to prepare for the 4th of July. The weather's been hot but nice so we've spent a lot of time outside.

Balancing on Knees

Maggie will now hold herself on her hands and knees when I put her in this position. She's beginning to rock forward and back when I sit her like this.
