I hosted Mena's and Ty's Birthday party this year and there was more than enough room in my house for all of us!!

Mena is 8 years old!
Gene and I took Mena to 6 weeks of Physical Therapy so she could learn some of the skills she hasn't yet mastered that kids her age can do. I bought us some exercise balls so we can do at home what Miss Jan taught her at PT. Mena thought they were part of her gift :-)
I actually bought her a lawn chair and VBS music dvd.

Maggie's Pierced Ears
I told both girls I'd pierce their ears for Valentine's Day. It took Maggie 7 months to get brave enough. While at Walmart buying groceries, she said she wanted to get it done. She cried when they pierced her ears, but both ears were done at the same time so it was all done by the time she started crying. She was too scared to sit on the stool by herself so she sat on my lap. It took her almost an hour before she said it stopped hurting. She's very glad she got it done now that the pain is gone!

Restless Sleeper
Mena sleeps in place like most adults do. Maggie still flips around in her bed. This is what she looked like when I came in to wake her up for school. It also makes a difference that Maggie likes to sleep in and Mena tends to get up between 5:30 and 6 every morning. I get up at 5:30 so I'm less likely to see Mena in bed to take pictures any more.

Henry Doorly Zoo
The girls and I enjoyed a day at the Henry Doorly Zoo. We rode the sky tram and took a train ride while there. I really appreciate that I can take trips like this with the girls by myself without worrying about someone wandering off, naps, or potty training!! I really enjoy just spending time with my kids.
