Food Budget

My grocery budget has gone up since we're home all day now.  On this day, I made 20 blueberry muffins in the morning.  By supper time there were only 5 left!

Social media has a bunch of memes about how everyone is eating more and their grocery budgets are way up.  There's also been a shortage of hand soap and toilet paper.  It's crazy.  It's not like we're going into a bunker due to a nuclear attack.  We can still regularly go to the store to get what we need, and yet people are hoarding toilet paper!

Egg Hunt

Due to the Coronavirus, Gene and I agreed to as little transitions as possible.  We're doing 7 & 7 and we're both keeping the girls at home.  I suggested we put my Easter time with my week rather than switching houses multiple times during one weekend.  I hid the eggs in the yard on Friday morning when it was 20-something degrees outside.  The chill didn't seem to bother them!

Dying Easter Eggs

Rosemont "Egged" Us!

We didn't see anyone come to our yard so we were surprised and the girls were excited to have an egg hunt.  Rosemont was so thoughtful to do this for us.  The girls haven't been to daycare since before Spring Break and won't go back until I'm working in the school building again which won't be until fall.  Maggie was so excited by the He has Risen! egg that she explained to me twice why that one didn't have any candy!

Work from Home

As a remote teacher, I have to make contact with my student families weekly and I have to conduct all my IEP meetings via Zoom.  I am now only using the table in my bedroom but getting organized took a lot of spreading out before I could feel like I knew what I was doing.  The girls have had to adjust to when they can or can't talk to me.  I try to close the door when I'm on Zoom and leave it open when I'm working.  Only once have they interrupted a meeting.  Mena came in whispering that Maggie thru something at her.  Next Maggie came in loudly complaining about her sister.  I’m unable find my mute button because something is covering it. I tell everyone on the Zoom "just a minute" & then say to Maggie, "Don’t throw stuff at your sister. You know better.  I’m in a meeting. Go play quietly until I am done. Go!"  I then turn back to my meeting & everyone is holding in their laughter. ðŸ˜± Children! ðŸ˜…😆

Burger King

I worked until 5:30 pm preparing for IEP meetings so we drove through Burger King and then ate a picnic supper on a blanket at Mahoney City Park.  It was a nice way to relax as well as get out of the house.  Mena said, "This is great!  Mom's so stressed and busy with work that we get to go out to eat twice in one week!"

Coronavirus Changes

Walmart now has the entrances limited to one entrance and a limit as to how many people can be in the store.  There are taped Xs on the sidewalk to space people 6 feet apart.  It is being asked at all stores that there be only one person per cart and no children.  People aren't following it strictly.  Some couples are still shopping together.  Some parents have to bring their little kids.  I'm either leaving my girls at home or in the car when I go into stores now.  My shopping is done mostly by ordering for pick up and I only go in for a few things between orders.
