Christmas Eve - Evening

Grandma came for dinner and church with us.  Maggie filled half her plate with sweet potatoes and declared there was no need to eat any other foods which made Grandma and I laugh!  Grandma was glad to get a gift certificate to get her nails done with us this spring.  Friends came to the same service we came to at St. Mark's so we took family photos for each other.

 

Christmas Eve - Morning

Christmas Eve morning, we opened presents and had monkey bread for breakfast.  The first presents they opened were a phone case (Maggie) and a heat/cold pack that Philomena picked out and then saw when I forgot it in the trunk of my car so she wasn't surprised.  They each got an ornament from Ten Thousand Villages, a gift certificate to get their nails done, and a Bible cover.  Their stockings included the usual candy and toothbrush and a few other small things.

 

Mickle Choir Concert

Grandma and I enjoyed Maggie's choir concert the next night.

Nativity

The girls read the daily readings and put up the nativity throughout December leading up to Christmas.  It's a tradition that they both keep asking for!

 

Annual Grinch Cookies & Movie

I made Grinch mint chocolate chip cookies, like I do every year.  We watched the live person one first (Philomena's and my fav) and then the newer cartoon one (Maggie's fav).

 

Something Happened...

Philomena came into my bedroom wrapped in a towel dripping water and declared, "Something's wrong with my shower.  I need to use yours."  I walked into her bathroom to find the shower head and hose totally broke off the ball.  "Mom, I just tried to adjust the shower head and then water was shooting all over, so then I just shut it off and came to your bathroom."  Um, ya, there's something wrong!  I'm glad we have two bathrooms so we were able to share until I had time to go buy a new shower head with hose.  I laughed and texted the pictures to my family and friends.  Yep, something's wrong, but I can replace it.
