Independence Day

I had the girls on July 3rd and we went to Mike's house to hang out with friends from church.  He spent way too much on fireworks and the girls had fun lighting them off.  At one point, Mike suggested that I move my car further away.  Maggie didn’t realize what I was doing and lit a firework as I was walking down the driveway. I thought I said “ah shit” under my breath but Maggie heard me & then loudly announced to everyone else that I cussed and when she thought they didn’t believe her she said “no, I heard her say shit!” Which made them laugh even harder & Andrew yelled that he probably would have said the same thing if he was that close! ðŸ¤£ love when my kids rat me out ðŸ˜‚

The girls spent the day with their dad on July 4th, but as a family they weren't doing much for fireworks.  The girls drove over to my house and I drove us to Waverly to watch their show.  We got there at 8 pm and probably didn't need to get there until 9 pm.  The show started at 10 pm.  We sat in our lawn chairs right next to the car and had a great view.  When we got home, Philomena drove them back to their dad's to finish his weekend.  Great news was that I didn't have to buy any fireworks this year!

Philomena's New Glasses

Philomena went with a bigger, more solid frame this time, because the babies at the daycare where she works keep pulling her glasses off her face!

Camp Fontanelle

Maggie had a great week at Camp Fontanelle for Girls Only camp.  She did great at archery.  The pool pump was struck by lightning so the girls couldn't use the pool.  They found plenty of other things to do!  When I arrived on Friday, Maggie was ready to leave immediately, but it's a good thing we stayed for the program because Maggie was the awarded the Christian Leadership award for the week.  She volunteered to pray for the group and was answering questions during the Bible study each day.  On the way home, Maggie swear that she DID NOT fall asleep; I beg to differ! haha

Elk City Cemetery

I drove the girls and my mom up to Elk City Cemetery to see where my grandparents and my uncle are buried.  We walked around and were surprised by how many Frye's are buried here.  I took pictures and we're going to match them up to our family tree to figure out who and how we're related to.

VBS

Maggie helped lead the prayer to Adams Family one evening of VBS.  It was a great week despite illness.  Maggie helped lead preschool games.  Philomena led a crew around to the stations.  I led the Bible story station.  The norovirus hit the daycare the same week.  Philomena threw up driving home on Tuesday evening.  Then I was crampy on Wednesday.  We were back at VBS on Thursday and Friday so thankfully we're older and didn't get it as bad as the babies did.

Sewing

Maggie sewed a new pair of pajama pants and I sewed Philomena a pillow from 2 of grandpa's shirts that she saved.
