Both Mena and Maggie enjoyed carving our pumpkin. Mena was more into the end result and Maggie was more into feeling the inside of the pumpkin. Maggie seems to enjoy sensory activities more than Mena; Maggie just doesn't care how dirty she gets! I gave Mena a choice of what shape I would carve for each piece of the face. I only gave flat edge shapes (square, triangle, rectangle) since I'm not so great at rounded shapes. Mena chose a happy face with no teeth even when I suggested teeth a couple different times, so it took me a few tries to get the mouth smooth and to not look lopsided.
