Neither Mena nor I had school on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving so the girls and I went to the state capitol. A woman gave the girls each a magazine with pictures about the capitol. They enjoyed looking at the pictures on the floor, walls, and ceiling. I took a picture of them in front of the bust of Willa Cather. We'd been by about 10 statues and I'd told the girls who each of the people were. Then Mena stopped to look at me and asked, "You know all these people?!" I told her I was reading the plaques. They were thrilled to be up on the 14th floor and to find our truck down on the street from the windows up so high!
