Our New House!
Each year, Northeast High School students build a house in partnership with Lincoln Housing Authority, and NeighborWorks. This year the Sowers Club also contributed some money. Families have to have been on Section 8 housing assistance and have to apply to buy this house. This year I was chosen to buy the house. The girls and I have been regularly driving by to monitor the progress.
The Floor Plans that I received when I applied to be chosen to buy the house:
The first time we drove past the house (3 pictures taken on November 1, 2015, before we had been chosen):
The house is now enclosed (3 pictures taken on November 22, 2015, before we'd been chosen):
Windows and doors have been installed and the roof is shingled (3 pictures taken on March 28, 2016, after I'd found out that I was in the top 3 choices for buying the house):

The night of the Open House lots of people came through to see the house.
Firefighter's Pole
Maggie was thrilled with herself to have done the firefighter's pole by herself. Mena tried and got mad at me for moving too far away to help her.

Allergies
Mena had blood drawn so they could determine what she's allergic to. Gene had to hold her down so the nurse could draw the blood. I tried but I wasn't successful. Root beer floats and nachos made everything better :-) Mena is allergic mostly to cats and dust mites.

Morrill Hall
The girls enjoyed our morning at Morrill Hall. Our conversations are so interesting these days as their thoughts pop out of their heads!

Angry Birds, the Movie
The girls posed at the movie theater display after we saw the Angry Birds movie. We all enjoyed the movie; it actually had a good plot line with lesson on friendship.

Mahoney State Park
After church, the girls and I met Beth and the boys at Mahoney State Park so I could get some boxes for moving from her. When Beth snapped this picture, we were all focused on Peyton. We should have paid more attention to Mena. A few minutes later she got off and threw up from being so dizzy. Poor kid!
