Baby Willa

Gene did not make it to the girls' VBS program or carnival this year.  He was at the hospital with his wife who gave birth to the girls' half sister Willa.  Willa was born 3 weeks early but healthy.  Mena adjusted just fine to having a baby sister at her dad's house.  Maggie came home complaining about the baby the first few times she was at her dad's house.  Gene did well with responding to each of Maggie's complaints (I never get to help; that baby always interrupts my time with daddy; etc) and within a month Maggie had made the adjustment to sharing her dad with yet another sister.

Vacation Bible School

The girls enjoyed another year of VBS.  I led the craft/science station so the girls both got to see me each night.  They are getting to be so independent of me!

Oops

We thought the tooth fairy forgot to bring Mena her dollar for losing a tooth, but the next day the tooth fairy left a note saying what had happened!

"Mena, I tried to come to your house last night, but I went in the wrong house!  Oops!  There was a dog that chased me until I ran into a window and I didn't remember you having a dog so I went home to look up your new address and realized I was at the wrong house!  I came back but you were awake since I'd been to so many other houses last night!  Why do so many kids lose their tooth on the same night?!  So I snuck into your house after you went to daycare.  Sorry I was late!  Don't worry, I'll remember where your house is from now on! Tooth Fairy"

Mena was so relieved that the tooth fairy wasn't hurt by the dog!  She came out after finding the note in her bedroom and told me, "I just can't believe it! Chased by a dog! Whew!"

Crafts

We went to Hobby Lobby and the girls each picked out a project.  Maggie painted an Elsa piggy bank and Mena painted a tea set.
