Mena just called me from her dad’s house. She just spent the last 40 minutes cleaning her closet. She said she is in love with her closet now! She is so my daughter 🥰

Camping at Mahoney

My surgery went well.  Gene has the girls while I'm recovering.  On Saturday, Jess brought the kids to me.  They spent an hour with me before Grandma and Papa picked them up to go camping with the rest of the family.  They went putt putt golfing and ran through the water being sprayed from a hose.  The pool had reached max capacity so no one in our family got in.  Maggie slept in Grandma and Papa's camper while Mena slept in Peg's camper.  Maggie was tuckered out and slept on the drive home.  The girls spent a little over 30 minutes with me on Sunday before going back to their dad's house again.

Camping at KOA

My hysterectomy was scheduled the Wednesday before our family camping trip.  I was able to trade with Gene so I could take the girls camping the weekend before at KOA where Peg and Jon were already booked.  We were able to drive out and get set up in time for Mena's Launch Camp Zoom.  (It's been a great camp that she wants to do again next year; hopefully in person next summer!)  On Saturday, Mom, Dad, Beth, and the boys came to visit.  The kids rented the big bikes to ride together.  Peyton was helping Maggie come up the hill.  Then we hadn't seen Maggie in awhile.  I walked down to my camper and discovered that she didn't like it and found something else to do in the camper!  She rode it back and had no desire for a second turn when Mena and the boys decided to keep going!

Storm

A weird thunderstorm came through.  We were on the edge of a "microburst" of wind that knocked trees out.  I lost this one branch that my dad was able to cut up with his chainsaw.  We filled the trashcan.  The neighbor across the street, you can see lost a branch that blocked the whole street.  Further down the street, someone had a branch fall on their van.  It filled a dumpster.  Damage got worse as you went south through Lincoln.

Baking

Maggie wanted to make something in the kitchen so we chose lemon bars and I helped her so the mess was contained this time :)

Creative Child

I just need to melt these in the microwave, she said.
I forgot which side of the pan the crayons were in, she said.
I’m cleaning it up, she said.

Water Play!

I think a cat got into the old pool.  At bedtime, Mena told me that they had forgotten to cover the pool and I said it would be fine for one night.  Earlier that day I'd shooed a cat away from it so I think it came back for a drink in the night.  It was flat by morning.  Pools have gone up in price.  This pool usually sold for $25 at Walmart.  Walmart was totally out.  Amazon was selling it for $100-150 which I refused to pay.  I bought this one off Marketplace for $50 from a gal here in Lincoln.  Girls are enjoying something to do in the backyard and it should come in handy while I'm recovering from surgery.

Happy Independence Day!

The girls took a weekend trip with their dad for the holiday.
I spent the 3rd with my parents and Peg's family.
The fourth I enjoyed a quiet day at home.

Flyaway Hairs

Maggie was annoyed at her flyaway hairs.
She solved her problem with Vaseline.
I think we got most of it out. 🧐
