Boo at the Zoo

The girls enjoyed Boo at the Zoo with Grandma and Mommy.  They came home with lots of treats--candy, tattoos, chocolate milk, an apple, a toothbrush, and toothpaste!  We rode the train once around the zoo after we were done trick or treating.  Raising Cane's was selling food with proceeds going to the zoo, but they had picnic tables set up outside so we went to Braeda instead.  The girls were excited for their M&Ms that Braeda includes with the kids meals.

Our Jack O'Lantern

I helped Maggie cut the left eye.  Mena cut the right eye and nose with little help from me.  I cut the oval mouth to match the face Mena made to show me what she wanted on the pumpkin.

Glowing on our patio with their two little pumpkins on either side.

Bloom Where You're Planted Pumpkin Patch

The girls climbed to the top of the hay bales.

Mena felt very brave.

Maggie wasn't sure she liked it once she got up and was scared to climb down.

Climbing another set of hay bales a little bit more confident after the last set.

I missed the shot of Mena coming out the slide at the end of the hay bales, but I got a good picture of Maggie coming out!

The scarecrow wiggled when they sat on the hay and Mena jumped up scared.  I had to hold it still for her to sit down and then I had to convince Maggie that it was ok to sit down too.

The girls were trying to figure out how to work the wheel barrows.

Maggie saw another kid with hay in their wheel barrow so she found some for hers.

Mena wasn't going to be left out so she found some hay, too.

Walking the walls of the maze was a fun challenge.

Mena liked Maggie's idea and climbed up on the walls, too.

Both girls enjoyed "driving" the tractor.

The girls pumped water to race their plastic ducks down the trough.

Maggie said, "Take a picture of me standing next to the cow, Mom!"  I had to back way up because she wouldn't move any closer.

The three of us on the hay rack ride.

The girls each picked out a small pumpkin and I picked out a large one for us to carve.

Doll House

I suggested that we remove all the toys from the toy shelf so Mena could turn it into her doll house.  She loved the idea!  I can't believe how much furniture they have that she was able to fill all 3 floors!

Writing Names

Mena has become more interested in writing other names so I wrote all of our family's names on index cards and put them on a ring so she can copy the names.  The first name she wanted to copy was "Jennifer."  She has since asked me to add her friends' names to the ring of cards and she's learning to recognize each of them.

The B-I-B-L-E

These two pictures are of Mena's Cherub Choir singing "The B-I-B-L-E" in the second service at church this morning.  The video of the Cherub Choir singing is from the first service.  Mena knows this song and sang all the words!  Maggie was singing it as we walked out of church.

How Do You Eat Your Pizza?

Maggie ate the toppings off her pizza, then licked off the pizza sauce, and last started eating the crust.  That's exactly how I did it as a child--and no, I didn't teacher her to do that!
