While the snow plows were clearing the city, we hung out at home!

Snow Day - Valentine Cookies

School was called off due to the snow storm.  I knew it was coming and bought all the supplies to make Valentine Cookies while we were home.  During the afternoon the snow measured about 8 inches on my back steps.  By bedtime, it was as deep as our 12 inch ruler.

Maggie Video Calls

Maggie is very animated when she tells me stories over the phone.  I love hearing from her.

Breast Cancer

Life seems very normal and then a surprise comes at you that you don't expect.  Due to family history, I was sent for a breast MRI on December 30th.  Then I was back in for 3 biopsies on January 18th.  January 19th, I called into work because I was still in too much pain.  January 20th and 21st, I was in quarantine due to my student having covid-19.  On the 21st, the office called to tell me that 2 biopsies were ok, while the third was cancerous.  I was glad to be home alone and able to process this life changing news.

Kamala Harris!!

Kamala Harris was sworn in as our first female, black, Asian American Vice President!

One of my students was diagnosed with covid-19 so we were all quarantining at home on the day Biden and Harris were sworn into office.  The timing was nice for this historical event!  Instead of working, I was able to watch the whole morning of tv coverage.

Maggie Sewing for Barbie

Maggie decided to sew bedding for her Barbie.  The girls are tired of staying home and away from everyone, but they are finding ways to entertain themselves.

Mom's Bedroom

I ordered a bedding set for myself, now that both of the girls' rooms are done.  I'm pondering painting the walls over spring break or next summer.
