Christmas at Harbor

Peg made a t-shirt for Grandpa with all the grandkids' handprints.  Dad was alert and chatty which was enjoyable.  Gene texted me when they were leaving church and we left Harbor at the same time.  So the girls got to their dad's around 8:15 pm so they could wake up at their dad's for Christmas celebrating at his house.

Christmas Eve Church Service

During the Christmas Eve service, I lit the Advent candles while the girls read about each candle.  I like the matching shirts I bought this year.  The girls liked them when they opened them this morning.  I bought these shirts instead of matching pj's or dress clothes for church.

Christmas Eve Afternoon

Mom made prime rib for dinner and we had a delicious family dinner.  Peyton's girlfriend, Arla, joined us this year.  Philomena received a Nebraska t-shirt, jelly beans, fidget ring, money, phone case, and Bible.  Maggie received a Nebraska t-shirt, Snickers & Milky Way, fidget ring, money and two desk organizers.  After gifts were opened, I gave Philomena and Maggie new pop sockets.  I didn't want to put them in their stockings for fear that Philomena would put it on her old phone and I'd give away the surprise of the new phone case that she'd be getting in the afternoon.  The afternoon with family was so fun.

Christmas Eve Morning

I did well this year in finding good deals on the gifts they wanted.

They both were so excited to find guinea pig harnesses in their stockings.  The guinea pigs were not as excited as the girls.  They actually both were able to get out of the harnesses and Desdemona poops when she's nervous, so there was poop all over the floor!  I exchanged the harnesses for another style that fits better so the girls can take the guinea pigs outside next summer.

The bluetooth earbuds were met with excited yells even though they knew these were coming.  Earlier this month, Maggie got into my closet for gloves and when she pulled out the box of hat and gloves, the box that I'd hidden the presents in fell off the shelf and out fell the earbuds.  I've always told the girls if they snooped in my closet that I'd return any presents they found.  Maggie came to tell me and was so worried that I'd return the earbuds.  I told her I knew it was an accident and I'd move the presents so they wouldn't fall out again.  So I think Maggie was relieved that I'd still given her the earbuds and Philomena was glad that she was getting a set also.

They received their blog books like usual.  They also received some sewing supplies.  Maggie's big gift was a hoverboard and she quickly was figuring out how to balance while moving around on it.  Philomena's big gift was a gift card to buy Birkenstock sandals and I'll take her shopping between Christmas and New Year's day.

Smart but Silly

Maggie bumped her head and wanted to ice it while also continuing to do stuff.  She decided to use two ear warmers on her head with the ice pack in between them!
