Junior Spartan Show Choir Camp

Show Choir fell on a daddy week, but he agreed to pay half and allow me to transport her to and from camp each day.  Most days he brought Mena to me on his way to work rather than daycare so I could make sure she got lunch before camp started.  It was nice to see the girls a bit more on that off week than usual.  Maggie enjoyed the performance at the end of the week.  Gene was home with his younger children and Jessie came to see Mena's performance.  Mena enjoyed camp again and can't wait for next year!

Tristy's End of Fifth Grade Celebration

Tristy is one of Mena's best friends at St. Paul.  It was a daddy day, but he allowed me to take the girls to Tristy's party.  I stayed the whole time since there were other moms from church also there.  We enjoyed the extra time together with friends.

Memorial Weekend

The three of us plus Peg, Jon, and Jake went camping over Memorial Weekend at the Gretna KOA.  It is so much nicer than the state parks.  More expensive, but we had water right at our camp site.  The kids enjoyed the hay rack ride, as seen in the pictures.  They also really enjoyed the jumping pillow, zip line, swimming pool, miniature golf, and the playground.  There was so much for the kids to do.  We camped Friday through Monday.

Piano Recital

Mena continues to improve on the piano.  She is doing so well at keeping a steady beat and she's improving on reading her notes.  She keeps going back and forth as to whether she wants to keep taking lessons and practicing, but the hard work is paying off!  Mena's not the only kid taking piano lessons from Alicia at church.   The number of kids keeps increasing!  Nice for Mena to see friends also taking lessons from Alicia.

Sonshine Singers

The Sonshine Singers sang Heaven is in My Heart.  Small group this week, but they sounded good.

Chimes

Mena and Kipton played chimes for a song in church.  They did a great job! I'm so proud of how musically talented and interested she is in learning more!

Rocks for Parking Camper

I took out the garden since I don't have a green thumb.  That hobby cost me more than I got out of it.  I moved the shed to the paved area and spread rocks where the garden used to be.  Now I can pull into my driveway, across the grass, and onto the rocks.  Once the camper is in place, then I unhook and move my car around.  Maggie filled up her shovel about 4 times before she just went to play on the swingset.

Good-bye Pheobe

I was struggling to get Pheobe house trained so I tried a doggie diaper.  She pooped through the tail hole in the hallway right after I'd taken her outside.  That week I decided I needed to reduce my stress and expenses by re-homing her.  I listed her on Craig's List.  She went to a family in Sioux City.  I met them in Gretna on the weekend the girls were at their dad's so we didn't get a final picture like I did with Pollie.  I am done with having a pet.  I miss having a dog to lay at my feet when I'm at home but we are home only one or two days a week so that's not really a lot of time to enjoy or miss a dog.  I am glad to have less responsibility.
