Maggie's Birthday at Daddy's House

Maggie really looks like Gene in this picture.  Gene posted it on facebook saying, "Two years ago today, this little sweetheart came into my life."  She got a shopping cart for her birthday from her dad.

Happy Birthday at Mom's

Maggie woke up at my apt and while still in pajamas, she opened her presents.  A smart mommy bought a box of 3 dress up shoes so both girls could enjoy the gift.  Maggie also received a Christmas cd.

The three of us spent the day together.  At 9 am Maggie had her 2 year check up.  She is 34.5 inches tall (63%), 32 pounds (98%), and her head is 19.75 inches (95%).  She has gained 7 pounds in the last three months which Dr. Bernhardson told us is what toddlers should gain in a year.  Her BMI is ok but he said we don't want this trend to continue!  We're hoping a growth up is to follow this growth "out."  Other than that she is a very healthy girl!

We had a WIC appointment at 11 am where each of the girls received a plate showing them the four food groups.  I wonder if they'll eat more veggies on their new plates?

I gave Maggie a choice of Amigos or Burger King for lunch.  She chose Burger King.  After lunch we returned home for naps.  We played at home for the afternoon.  Daddy picked the girls up when he got off work so they could celebrate Maggie's birthday at his house that evening.

Festival of Thanks

At the church Festival of Thanks, the clown made each of the girls a balloon hat.  Maggie chose the Viking hat and Mena chose the Watch Dog hat.

Nov. 18th--Cherub Choir

Waiting for her turn to rehearse.

Practicing so nicely...

I videoed Mena singing in the first service.  The last 4 pictures are from the second service.

1.  Being a typical kid during church while the pastor is talking :-)

2.  Singing beautifully!

3.  Showing her belly to the whole congregation!

4.  Such a pretty smile from a cute girl who sang so wonderfully!

Nov. 18th--Cherub Choir

Mena's Cherub Choir at church singing "Jesus Loves Me."  During rehearsal Maggie was singing with the kids so loudly that the gal in the pew ahead of us turned around to see who was singing.  Maggie's ready to join the choir, too!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Maggie!!

Eating dinner on our Tinkerbell plates.
We, also, hung up a Tinkerbell banner that said, "Happy Birthday!"

Peyton taught the kids how to blow the "blowouts."  That's what the packaging called them anyway.  Mena caught on.  Jake some what caught on and alternated which end he tried blowing.  Maggie couldn't make it work.

Maggie wasn't thrilled for us all to be singing and looking at her!  Her eye rolls are so cute now, but those eye rolls might not be so cute when she's a teenager!

Maggie didn't get the idea of blowing out the candle so I did it for her.

A bit more of a neutral face when no one was singing and Grandma was just taking her picture with the cake.

Yummy cake!!

Eying the present when told to open the cards :-)

The doll house furniture from Aunt Beth, Uncle Tim, Peyton and Tyler and this camper from Grandma and Grandpa is much more exciting.  She felt the need to remove every little bit of paper from the boxes.

Maggie tried but needed Grandma's help to get open the package that Aunt Peggy wrapped.

Maggie was so excited with the purple sweater from Aunt Peg, Uncle Jon, and Jake that she started dancing with it and Mena joined in.

Maggie's got a little paper tail after opening all of those gifts!

Play Dough

After two hide and seek games, we ended our Sunday evening fun with play dough.  Mena enjoyed it as always.  Maggie seemed to really have enough hand strength and understanding of what could be done with play dough so that she enjoyed it more than she used to!

Hide and Seek Pumpkins

The girls enjoyed the turkey feathers game so much that we played a pumpkin game also.  I hid the game pieces around the room for the girls to find.  Then Mena matched the pumpkins to the game board and had to fill in the missing places with the correct pumpkin so they were all in alphabet order when we were done.
