Marching Band @ Football Games

Friday nights are now filled with football games and watching the marching band at half time.

 

Land Line

At church one evening, Maggie says, "Mom, you are never going to believe what I found!  I need your phone so I can take a picture."  Off she runs and a few minutes later shows me as we're walking out.  "MOM!  It's a phone connected to the wall and I hear a sound when I pick it up!"  That's a dial tone, my sweet child of the 2000's!

 

Mom's Birthday

The girls waited until the Sunday after my birthday to make me a birthday cake so we'd have more time.  Maggie told me how to make the layer cake she wanted me to have and Philomena decorated the other half of the cake. 49 candles were on the tower & fell over while lit while the girls were singing to me. Never a dull moment!

Mom's Birthday

Philomena designed the tshirt for me and my mom found a shop to print it for them.  I love it!  They also bought me a big bag of Peanut M&M's.  yum

 

Happy 15th Birthday!

Birthday card, chicken pot pie, and cake to celebrate her birthday today.  She drove for the first time in a parking lot.  She was full of grins!  Lots of learning to do.  At one point I told her to reverse and she drove right into the grass!

 

Time for a Cast

Maggie had more x-rays and the left ring finger is fractured in the growth plate near the palm of her hand.  She chose a light blue cast.  So glad they used black cloth rather than white so it doesn't look so dirty.  3 weeks in a cast should give it time to heal.

 

Shopping for Homecoming!

Peg and Jon took Maggie and Jake to the Safari Zoo while I took Philomena shopping for a homecoming dress.  She looks so classy in this red dress with shoes and jewelry to match the glam on the left side of the hem.  We also went shopping and she used her money to buy a comforter to go on her new bed.

 

Maggie's First Time for X-Rays

8:30 am:  I get a call at work telling me that Maggie was hurt but they gave her an ice pack and think it is just a jammed finger.

9:30 am:  I get another call at work telling me that I better take Maggie in for x-rays because it's swelling between the knuckles rather than on the knuckle like a jammed finger.

CCH told us to take her to Nebraska Orthopeadic who said there's a lot of swelling so they aren't sure but it appears to be fractured at the joint next to the palm and sprained at the middle knuckle.  They put her in a splint and scheduled us to come back on Monday for more x-rays.  She did really well going 12 years before needing x-rays!  She also did well at the doctor so we went to Culver's for lunch and then home for her to nap.

 

Early Birthday Gift

Over Labor Day weekend, I got Philomena a queen size bed for her birthday.  No way to hide it so happy early birthday!
