On a Walk

It's just a sewer access to an adult, but it's a stage to my children!

Rosa's Birthday Party

October 7th, Mena and I went to her classmate Rosa's birthday party.  Mena hit the pinata but didn't break it.  One of the older kids had to do that.

We went to Roca Pumpkin Patch with my friend Diann who is also a single mom with two daughters.  Tahani is 13 and Taliyah is 3.  The girls had fun in the different play houses.  The one with the 3 of us is a cupcake!  Maggie wasn't thrilled with me holding her on the train and trying to take a picture.  Mena was thrilled to ride on a train!  Mena was brave enough to go down the big slide by herself.  Tahani took Maggie and Taliyah.  I tried to take both girls with me but I slipped and Mena went down first and then I went alone and Tahani brought Maggie again! Last we played at the castle before going on a hayrack ride to pick out our pumpkin.  I'll have to post pictures of it when we get it carved or painted.  I haven't decided what we're going to do with it this year.

Princess Costume

I made Mena's princess costume for Halloween this year.  It's actually purple; I'm not sure why it looks blue in the pictures.  I like how it turned out and Mena loves it.

Funny Mena stories:

I was driving home from daycare.  I stopped at a red light and Mena said, "Mom!"  I turned around to see her point to her knee and say, "I getting hair on my knees just like Daddy!"  She laughed and laughed.

While at her dad's house I got a text from Gene that said, "Mena drew a cross on a pice of paper and said, "There's a cross, dad."  Gene said, "That's very nice, Mena."  She said, "Now someone can die on it." LOL!  Then a few days later she laid in the sandbox at Gene's house and said, "I die on the cross.  Maggie, come die on the cross with me."  Maggie replied, "okay."  Again, LOL! I've had some conversations with her about how people die/get to heaven.  The talk of people dying seems to be less now that she made sense of Jesus taking us to heaven.  Us refers to both people and animals since Jesus takes care of our guinea pig that got sick and died.

Cherub Choir Sept. 16th

Mena's first performance of this school year with her Cherub Choir.  She sang for most of the time.  There was still some time that she was watching the congregation rather than singing, but that is a lot to take in with all those people!
