Philomena's New Bike

Philomena was doing well on the bike I bought her last year, but she really needed a multi-speed bike to make longer rides easier.  We found this one on Marketplace and she's now taking 45-60 minute rides daily!

Where is Baby Jesus??

This nativity is on the wall I see as I walk downstairs. I noticed baby Jesus was missing so I yell out to my kids, “Where is baby Jesus??” Maggie responds, “Oh, I was looking at him and kept him safe in my backpack!” She pulls him out, leans over the half wall, and puts him back where he belongs. I just never know what’s going to come out of her mouth!

Philomena was confirmed at First UMC where Pastor Kirstie leads.  Charity and Matt led the class.  Grandma and Grandpa went to lunch with the girls and I.

Swim Lessons - level 3

The girls moved to the next class.  They are now swimming in the deep end.  Maggie is able to swim the crawl stroke the length of the pool without a flotation belt!  Mena is getting closer.

We went to the city pool and the girls wanted to jump off the diving board.  The head life guard needed to see them swim the crawl stroke the width of the pool without assistance.  I did the side stroke beside them to cheer them each on.  Maggie did the crawl stroke so fast that I had to pick up the pace!!  Mena couldn't make it the full width.  Maggie can jump in at any time that we're at the pool.  Mena can jump in during breaks when a life guard is in the water to help, if she needs it.  She never needed help and the girls jumped over and over!

Maggie's friend Myra invited her to attend their VBS.  Maggie knew a few girls from school and enjoyed getting to see them 5 evenings in a row!

Swim Lessons - Level 1 & 2

Both of the girls passed level 2 when they jumped into the deep end and swam to the ladder!

Union Plaza

We ate a picnic downtown at Union Plaza.  The girls got their picture by the big head.  They played on the playground.  We took a walk along the bike path that goes beside the stream.  Then they waded in the area where the fountains are.  Hot but fun!

Saltdogs Game

When we registered for the summer reading program, we received 4 free tickets to a Saltdogs Baseball game.  The girls were so excited that Grandma was going with us :)  The girls were more interested in getting food to eat than in watching the game, but fun was had by all!

No Room?!

I bought Maggie a new shoe rack so she could see all her shoes at one time; plus, I didn't want to be tripping over her shoes that she leaves on the floor.  About a week later, I told Maggie to pick up her shoes that were in middle of her bedroom floor so I could walk to her bed without tripping.  She told me there wasn't room for her shoes.  What do you mean there's no room?  My doll clothes are taking up all the space.  Doll Clothes?! I bought that for your shoes!!!!

Minature Golfing

The girls and I went mini golfing with Amy, Rob & Jada.  I like the photos we got of the girls, but why didn't we think to take a selfie of the adults??

Kearney Area Children's Museum

Kearney Area Children's Museum is smaller than the one in Lincoln, but very impressive with their setup.  The girls had a great time!  We tried to eat at a pizzaria that I like in Kearney but they didn't open until supper time and we were ready to head home.  We got a pizza from Casey's to eat on the road.  We stopped in York for a stamp and got some yummy popcorn.  We were home by around 3 pm and ready to rest!!
