Frye Easter

Grandma, Grandpa, Peg, Jon & Jake came to our house to celebrate Easter.  Grandma had an egg hunt in the basement for the kids.  Adults had a good time visiting and the kids had a fun time playing together.

Maggie's Selfies

I never know what pictures I will find on my phone when I leave it laying around!

Kahoa Chorus

The same day as Heritage School, Mena had her Chorus Concert.  At school she had to change out of her dress and into the black pants and chorus t-shirt quickly so they could perform their songs for the school.   That night the concert was at Mickle Middle School.

Heritage School

All LPS 4th Grade students attend a day of heritage school.  Everyone dresses like the 1800s and there is a teacher who teaches like it was done in the 1800s.  Mena said she liked it.

Children's Museum with St. Paul UMC

The girls enjoyed playing at the Children's Museum.  This is the third year our church has rented the museum on a Sunday evening.  The kids get to play on the main floor and downstairs while some older girls hide eggs all over the upstairs floor.  This year each kid got 16 eggs!  Mena spent the whole evening with Tristy.  Maggie wanted me to go around with her and later she went off by herself to play.  It feels safer to let them go away from my sight when it's just St. Paul and guests.

Dying Easter Eggs

Palm Sunday seemed to have a lot going on with morning egg hunt, singing in church, playing outside, dying Easter eggs, and then going to the Children's Museum, but it felt fun and relaxed all day!  I wasn't even planning on dying eggs that day but it just worked out.

Pheobe is Sad

I sat like Maggie told me to and then she went outside without me.  That's not fair!

Sonshine Singers

More singers showed up on Palm Sunday.  They sounded great with the extra voices.  Maggie fidgets with her dress and starts rolling it up shorter and shorter.  I'm trying to hold my phone still to video the song and at the same time I'm praying she doesn't roll it too high and wondering if I can somehow get her attention to put it down!  Mena and Tristy have become inseparable at church :)

Easter Treats

I hid the girls' eggs and baskets for them to find on Palm Sunday morning.  Instead of surprising them with sandals, I let them pick them out at the store the day before.  They were surprised by the candy in their baskets; "more than I thought we'd get!" said Mena.

I hadn't bought anything for their Easter baskets so for the first time I let Mena stay at home alone and Maggie went with me to the store.  She stayed within an aisle of me while I put things into a bag so she couldn't see what I was getting.  I ended up taking 2 hours at the store as Maggie showed me what she wanted and then I had to decide what to get within my budget.  Mena thought it was great!

YES! an Egg Hunt!!

Mena was very excited that Grandma agreed to do an Easter Egg Hunt at her house this year!  We probably would have had one at the campground, but we cancelled our camping trip due to damage at the campground from the flooding.

How to replace books on a shelf...

I told Maggie to go put the books away and "don't just lay them on the shelf."  I guess they are on display for the next family member to read!
