Happy 15th Birthday, Maggie!

Maggie:  You bought me a ceiling fan for my birthday?
Philomena: Welcome to the age where mom starts buying practical gifts.
Me:  ðŸ˜… this is what it’s like to have me as a mom 😆

Maggie:  Why doesn't my room already have a ceiling fan?
Me:  Well...there was a ceiling fan, but we removed the blades when you had a loft bed.  Then I thought my ceiling fan was broken so I tried to move your ceiling fan to my bedroom.  I dropped your ceiling fan and broke it.  Then I tried to put in your ceiling light and it was always on; we couldn't turn it off.  So then I hired an electrician to install my new ceiling fan and your ceiling light.  There probably wasn't anything wrong with my ceiling fan, but I didn't realize what I was doing wrong so here we are.  Then you went back to a bed on the floor and started using an oscillating fan.  So I decided to get you a ceiling fan for your birthday.
Maggie:  Oh
My thought:  that was probably longer of an answer than she expected -- haha

Maggie chose IHOP for her bday dinner with family.  I offered to buy Maggie a Nothing Bundt Cake but she said no.  Then we went to HyVee and she didn't like any of their cakes.  She wanted a cute marble cake.  So we bought ingredients and she asked me to put a mermaid's tail on it.  Not too bad for an amateur!

Pumpkins

We intended to carve pumpkins on Halloween, but we went to visit the girls' Uncle Dan and Aunt Mary and we ended up spending the whole evening with them!  It was great to see my former brother-in-law and meet his wife, and the girls enjoyed getting to know them!  So we carved our pumpkins after church on Sunday instead.
