Girl Scouts: Water = Life event

Mena and Bella drawing a picture about what they know about the importance of water.

Mena filling her cup with aquarium gravel.  The woman then added water was the girls could learn about the water level.  By pushing their rocks to the side, they created surface water with a pond and mountain.

The woman told a story about a fish swimming in nice clean water.  Then the fish went down the river and different people/places polluted the water.

The girls had two different water relays.  During the first relay, the girls scooped water out of a bucket into their cup and then carried the cup to another.  Water conservation was taught by the winner having the most water in the second bucket.

During the second water relay, the girls had to pour water from cup to cup to cup down the line to the second bucket.  It was faster but more water was wasted.

Left to right is Tessa, Presley, Mena, and Bella.  Heather and I enjoyed taking these four girls to the girl scout event.
