I couldn't go downstairs to our living room and our upstairs living room is a playroom with just a rocking chair, so in order for Mena to sit beside me, we would go sit on our bed. We put a step stool beside the bed so she could climb up to sit by me. It was hard on both me and Mena with my having the c-section incision on my stomach so that she couldn't sit on my lap for nearly 2 weeks after each surgery. I started crying the first time Gene lifted her onto my lap so I could hold her. Thank goodness that is getting behind us!
