Schramm State Recreation Area

Vacation Bible Camp ended on Thursday and we left on Friday to camp at Louisville State Recreation Area.  Friday we got set up in the afternoon and enjoyed the evening around the campground with Beth, Tim, Peyton, and Tyler.

Saturday morning we went to Schramm SRA.  The three tiered ponds were really low.  The first had algae covering it.  The second had tall grasses growing.  The third one had 6 fish that we saw.  The ponds where the ducks and geese swim were over full like all the other lakes and rivers in Nebraska.  After looking at the ponds we went to the playground.  It is so fun to remember how scared the girls were the first time I brought them here 6 or 7 years ago and  how they have now mastered everything on this playground!

After the playground we did some hiking, but Maggie's little legs were getting tired so we cut it short when Mena wanted to go hiking more and more and more.  We drove to the Aksarben Aquarium that used to be free and now it's renovated and charging $10 per adult and $7 per child.  I walked back out because we had other plans for where we were going to spend our money and that $24+tax was not part of the budget.

We saw a woman that looked familiar so I yelled out her name and sure enough, it was Mena's teacher at the park at the same time as us!  Mena was thrilled to see her again!
