Family Picture

Mena needed a family picture for school so Gene e-mailed me his two pictures.  I created a collage to include her dad, Jessie, and Holly with Maggie, Mena, and I.

Bike Riding

These 3 videos are of the girls riding their bikes.  Mena is doing great on her 2-wheel bike with training wheels and Maggie is doing great on the bigger tricycle.  I donated the smaller tricycle to our church consignment sale.

Praying Mantis

While on a walk around our apartment complex, we got to see an adult praying mantis and a baby praying mantis.  Both girls enjoy learning about bugs, but Maggie more so than Mena.  Mena likes to look and Maggie likes to pick them up.

Sunday School

Mena and Maggie are both in Sunday School this year.  I am teaching their class rather than the school-agers this year.  Allison is my helper.  She's a sweet college-age gal.  Mena loves it that I'm her teacher this year and Maggie is thrilled to be a big kid in Sunday School!

New Camera

Sometime when I was a Hogan, I paid the doctor and the insurance paid the doctor.  I got a refund in the mail and used the money to buy a new camera that will take better pictures and videos of the kids.  I don't think I ever took a picture of our new apartment building.  Our apartment is the door on the right.

Fire Station Field Trip

I went with Mena's class on their Fire Station field trip.  I was surprised at how Mena was scared of the vehicles.  The only way she'd climb into the truck was if I got in with her.  We also saw the inside of an ambulance and the outside of a fire engine.  We learned the fire truck has the ladder and the fire engine has the water hose.

Here is the class picture in front of the Fire Engine.  Mena is the first child on the left of the front row.  I am sitting right behind her.

Visit to Fremont

We delivered the grandparents day cards to both Grandma Frye and Grandma Olson when we visited Fremont today.  Mom also had Peyton and Tyler so the cousins had time to play together.  We went to Burger King for lunch and then the kids played in the play area.

Happy Grandparents Day!

Better late than never...I had the girls make their grandparents day cards this weekend.  The footprints are in the shape of a heart and the card says, "Little feet leave big imprints on our hearts!"

Union Plaza--Take 2!

Friday, I packed a picnic supper before picking the girls up from daycare.  We returned to Union Plaza to see the half that we missed when it started raining on Monday.  Mena noticed the ducks and decided to eat her sandwich with only bread on the bottom.  The top of her bun she saved for the ducks.  Here the ducks are eating the bread right before Maggie yelled out in excitement and scared the ducks away!

Maggie:  Take a picture of me and my rocks, Mom!

Maggie walking on the wall so bravely.

Mena decided to start picking up trash while we were walking around the park.  She found a Kohl's bag and we used it to hold the trash.

Union Plaza

The girls were too scared to stand in front of this huge head for a picture.  I was able to snap a picture as Maggie was walking towards the fountain.

Maggie:  Look at the mulch, Mom!!

The girls climbed up an incline under the bridge.

Mena started running every time she saw me pull the camera out!

Maggie:  Take my picture with the dog, Mom!

Tried to run but I got a picture before she got out of the chair.

I think these were supposed to be stools around the table, but my girls used them as stepping stones.

Mena said we should bring the cousins to take a picture on this log.  I think it reminded her of the caterpillar at the Lincoln Zoo.  She also thought that this tree had just happened to fall into this spot.

This rock garden was an awesome set up for the girls to play in.  They loved it!!
There was more that we didn't get to explore because it started raining and we were getting hungry for supper.  We ended our evening at Runza since I had a free birthday dinner coupon.

These three chairs were three sizes.  It made me think of Goldilocks and the three bears.
